‘Downton Abbey’ season 4: A hilarious (but also fake) setting
Apparently, no amount of distance between one “Downton Abbey” season and the next can stop the barrage of viral videos from hitting the internet. We’ve seen spoofs comparing the hit ITV show to the likes of “The Walking Dead” and “Breaking Bad” over the years, but now, we’re seeing the famous theme being used for something entirely different: the White House.
The unfortunate thing about this video below (via “The Chris Matthews Show”) is that they are obviously trying to draw some sort of parallel using humor; however, they never seem to get quite there, mostly because the music alone is not getting the point across. Then again, if you think Robert is set in his ways and stubborn, just look at everyone currently sitting in Congress. Zing!
Could you imagine how the likes of Mary and Mrs. Patmore would interact with some of the scoundrels in Washington? Sadly, we fear that the characters are not going to be venturing to DC on season 4 of the show, even though this would be a good time to do so given that they are in the Roaring Twenties, and the Great Depression has not happened yet. Of course, if they wanted to venture to the modern era they would probably need to head over to BBC One and borrow the TARDIS from “Doctor Who” … but this may be jumping into way too many different pop-culture worlds, and we can feel our brain frying at the mere thought of it.
