‘Game of Thrones’ season 3, episode 2 preview: What you can expect
So what should we expect for Sunday night’s new “Game of Thrones” episode? While we are still technically in that part of the season where it take a while for the story to get going, you should at least get a sense by the end of the hour as to who some of Westeros’ major players are this time around, and the storylines that they will be facing.
Without giving too much away, let’s start by sharing the official synopsis from HBO if you have yet to see it already:
“Sansa (Sophie Turner) says too much. Shae (Sibel Kekilli) asks Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) for a favor. Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) finds a way to pass the time. Arya (Maisie Williams) runs into the Brotherhood Without Banners.”
First and foremost, you can clearly see that Arya is going to have her first major part of the season, and what we can tell you is that she is going to basically be the young, fantasy-skewed version of “Revenge’s” Emily Thorne by the time this episode comes to a close. She is clearly hungry for revenge for everyone that has hurt her family, but it may take her quite a while still before she is in a place where this is something that is really possible for her.
Meanwhile, you can also expect the beginnings of what should be an interesting storyline for Jaime and Brienne, and it is one that many critics are hyping up as the highlight of the first few episodes of the season.
Just in case you want even more “Game of Thrones” goodness, the video below has a little bit of new footage in it, to go along with some quotes from critics about the season so far. (In of course the least-surprising news ever, they’re all positive. Who would have imagined?)
