‘Supernatural’ season 8, episode 20 preview: Felicia Day is back!
Just in case you did not get your fill of Felicia Day’s “Supernatural” character of Charlie earlier this seas, we now present you with some very great news: the actress is now back in action yet again. The geek-culture favorite and star of “The Guild” showed up earlier this year for “LARP and the Real Girl,” and she is going to be back yet again for “Pac-Man Fever,” the next episode of the show airing on April 24.
Let’s start with some of the obvious things about the promo below that are extremely entertaining. First and foremost, Day has a great chemistry with Jensen Ackles in particular, and most of her episodes bring us a sort of fun that we don’t quite get at any other point on the show. “LARP and the Real Girl” was probably in the top 2 or 3 standalone episodes of the year.
Now, the flip side. After a pretty fantastic episode last night featuring the return of Benny and Bobby, along with one that saw Kevin be kidnapped in the closing seconds, why transition into something that seems to be more based in silly fun? The simple answer here seems to be that the show, like many others with 22-24 episodes a season, cannot really give you a fully intricate story over that span of time that is also serialized. There has to be a few filler episodes thrown in here since the network can mess around with episode orders from time to time, and you always need to make sure there is enough story to tell by the time the finale rolls around.
Oh, and we also should mention that the classic Pac-Man music in here is fantastic.
Even if it is filler, are you still interested in what this episode brings to the table? If you want to read our full review of last night’s “Supernatural,” you can do so just by heading on over to the link here.
