‘Glee’ season 4: Kevin McHale, Jenna Ushkowitz, and Chris Colfer wish Cory Monteith well
While we tend to stray away from these sort of “celebrities react to [insert event here]” stories, there is a certain relevance to the messages of support coming in now from Cory Monteith’s “Glee” co-stars following his decision to enter a rehab facility this week. These are people that have worked with the actor for years, and seeing their support publicly not only means a big deal for public perception, but also for him as he goes through what must be a pretty difficult time in his life.
One thing that is especially interesting is that with the messages below along with Lea Michele’s original statement, every single member of the original New Directions from the show has acknowledged what Cory is going through.
Kevin McHale (Artie) – “Love u @CoryMonteith, so proud of you :)”
Jenna Ushkowitz (Tina) – “Sending lots of love and light to @CoryMonteith. We love you”
Amber Riley (Mercedes) – “I support you big bro, love you to life. So proud of you @CoryMonteith get well soon”
Chris Colfer (Kurt) – “Anyone who helps themselves is a hero in my book.”
Executive producer Ryan Murphy was also quick to show his support, posting a message almost faster than anyone else online:
“I am so proud of Cory Monteith and love and support him 100%”
As previously reported, Monteith will miss the final two episodes of the season due to this decision, but the writers are already planning to come with some sort of creative way to write him out of the story, while of course leaving it open for him to return next year.
