‘Game of Thrones’ season 3, episode 2 preview: Arya, Bran, and Brienne return
Just in case you were missing some of your favorite “Game of Thrones” characters during the season 3 premiere on Sunday night, there’s ultimately no reason to fret: many of them are going to be coming back as early as next week.
In the first promo below for next week’s “Dark Wings, Dark Words,” we are going to see the first appearances of such people as Arya and Bran Stark, Jaime Lannister, and Brienne for the first time since the end of season 2, which will be nice strictly from the standpoint of seeing where they are now. In addition to that, we also will have the first appearance of Diana Rigg as Olenna, who will have quite a few interesting conversations with Margaery Tyrell moving forward. Natalie Dormer is going to have a much larger role in this season than she did last time around, and much of the time it will be spent trying to answer one question: is she really helping Joffrey Lannister, or undermining him to gain favor with King’s Landing?
While we may be fairly early on in the season, hopefully the promo does at least give you some insight that many of these characters are going to hit the ground running moving forward, and don’t have a particularly high interest in just sitting around and waiting for interesting things to happen to them. Both Jon Snow and Robb Stark are going to face some unexpected complications soon, and it will be interesting to see whether or not the possession of the Unsullied has a significant impact on Danaerys at all.
