ABC uses ‘Castle’s’ Nathan Fillion for April Fools’ Day, 100th episode fun
Every year on April Fools’ Day, ABC likes to prove that it is one of the only networks out there that knows how to have a pretty great sense of humor. Sometimes they create fake shows to put up graphics for on their official website, and on some other occasions they merely just skewer some of their existing shows in some shape or form.
This time around, the network decided to use a little bit of cross-promotion on their official site; not only were there some pretty great jokes (including the photo attached here, which you can click on to enlarge), but they were also by and large in promotion of “Castle’s” 100th episode tonight. Basically, the producers stuck Nathan Fillion into a variety of different costumes and environments as Richard Castle, while also plugging some of his mystery novels in the process.
Isn’t this a pretty brilliant idea? We like to think so. While it doesn’t come close to the extensive effort put in to Google Nose or some other great April 1 pranks that are floating around right now on the internet (which also includes Andy Denhart saying that Donald Trump will replace Matt Lauer on “Today”), it is certainly better than anything some of the other major television networks have put out (largely because they don’t even bother). It’s always important to be able to make fun of yourself, especially when you are in the business of trying to entertain wide audiences.
Sadly, “Once Upon a Time” fans, Fillion will not actually be playing Peter Pan. We have a feeling that he has way too much on his schedule as is.
