‘American Idol’ top 8 results: Did Lazaro Arbos, Devin Velez survive again?
There’s no question that Wednesday night’s “American Idol” was at times a success, and at other times a complete and other disaster. Just based on watching the trio featuring Lazar Arbos, Devin Velez, and Burnell Taylor, it felt pretty clear going into this that at least two of them (if not all three) were going to quickly find themselves within the bottom three.
So did this happen? After performances from Colton Dixon and judge Keith Urban, we found out; and lo and behold, the three guys in jeopardy at the very end were the same guys behind the “Can’t Help Myself” disaster. But were they really the bottom three? Ryan Seacrest didn’t make that clear, and what we really believe here was that the producers were really just trying to find a way at this point to punish the guys for stinking it up so badly? (Then again, most of this really was Lazaro’s fault, though Burnell and Devin let their frustration get the best of them.)
Moving forward, we then figured out that Burnell was safe, and the person at “risk” of elimination was Devin. This was a pretty terrible result in some ways, mostly because in no way should Devin had went home over Lazaro. However, we did very much see this coming courtesy of the results the past few weeks. Sadly, the judges were not interested in using the save on him, mostly because they knew that there was no way he would advance deep into the competition, despite his talent level.
What did you think about this week’s results, and do you think the top five could be all women? If you want to see what Devin, Lazaro, and Burnell had to say prior to the elimination show, you can do so over at the link here.

SO frustrated to learn these results. Lazaro HAS to go, Devin deserved to advance over him, even if it was only for a week.
