‘American Idol’: Lazaro Arbos says internet backlash impacting performances
Whenever you are on some sort of platform that allows millions of people to see you week in and week out, it’s only inevitable that you are going to be interested in seeing what people are going to say about you. However, you have to also be aware that not all of it can be possible. You have to realize that these people are all armchair quarterbacking, and by and large being critical when they have no reason to be at all.
Unfortunately, it seems as though Lazaro Arbos on “American Idol” this season is letting these words get to him more than most others. Speaking in a new interview with Hollywood.com (via Mjsbigblog), here is what the young singer of Cuban-American descent, who has received much support for what he has done on this season despite having a stutter, had to say:
“I think that when you become known, there’s a lot of people that talk bad, and I think that we have been letting those bad comments get to us.”
From one standpoint, we certainly understand just where Lazaro is coming from. It’s rather hard (and next to impossible, in fact) to not let criticism get to you, and it has to be even worse when you already have to deal with something every second of your life that makes you a target of bullying. At the same time, what we are seeing from him in interviews suggests that he may have needed a few more years to grow and mature before going into this sort of high-scrutiny competition, just so he could handle everything that is being thrown at him.
What do you think about Lazaro’s comments: do you relate to him, or worry that he is simply not ready for prime time? If you want to see where he stands in our latest “american Idol” show rankings, you can do so over at the link here.

If you don’t have anything nice to say about Lazaro, then don’t say anything at all. You are not the Judges and its up to them to decide. He’s no doubt under a lot of stress and pressure and it’s not helping him at all to see what others are saying about him which obviously is getting to him and upsetting him. He should just do the “Best” he can and not care what other people say about him. Very hard to do though.

Cry baby. The only reason he still on his that people feel sorry for him. He is mediocre singer. He is way out of his league.

Sorry, but Lazaro should not be in the competition any longer. Got to love the guys spirit, but he is nothing but a very average singer that you can hear at any piano bar. He was picked over “Papa Smurf” ??????
