‘Dexter’ season 8: Meet the new [spoiler]
As a recent photo posted by “Dexter” star Aimee Garcia online clearly showed, we are going to be meeting a new actor in the role of young Harrison Morgan on the eighth season of the Showtime drama. So who will play the child this time? Well, we’ve been lucky enough now to find out.
According to show site Dexter Daily, the name of the six-year actor in the role is Jason Wells, and he is taking over the role once occupied by Evan and Luke Kruntchev. There are always a number of reasons to recast a role, but for young actors there tend to be more thanks to the fact that some age differently than the timeline of a show, or simply start to not want to work in the business anymore. Ultimately, the number of variables involved here one of the reasons why many TV producers often choose to not work with children aged 2-5, since these sort of casting issues are pretty common. (It’s easy to re-cast a newborn, since fewer people will ultimately know or remember the difference.)
“Dexter’s” cast and crew are starting to delve pretty deep into the season, and are around now the 25% mark of the filming process. While CBS head Les Moonves did come out and say that this is the show’s final season, there has still be no confirmation on this matter by the network themselves. Therefore, we’re still very much in a waiting game, and the fact that they haven’t announced it in many ways suggests that the network may not even be sure yet where they want to go.
