‘True Blood’ season 6 spoilers: The latest casting is…
If you remember back to last month, we wrote a piece about how one of the new roles for “True Blood” season 6 is Dr. Overlark, a vampire-hating adviser to the Governor of Louisiana; and now, we finally know who is going to be playing this part in the episodes coming up for HBO.
According to some new reports (via SpoilerTV), actor John Fleck has been booked to play this role in what is a currently-unknown number of episodes. Fleck has appeared over the past several decades in a number of critically-acclaimed series, whether it be “Carnivale,” “Chuck,” “Nip/Tuck,” or “Weeds.” This role will at least be tied to someone who is a major part of the season; Governor Burrell will surely have a pretty significant role in human / vampire relationships in Louisiana, and he has a serious ax to grind: his wife abandoned him and their daughter together to be with a vampire, so he of course has it in for anyone and everyone who has a set of fangs.
But how many of our characters are really going to have the time to deal with someone like this? This is what we don’t know about for the time being, as Sookie will be figuring out what happened to our parents, Eric will be likely tackling “Billith,” and who knows what Sam Merlotte is up to at this point?
What do you think about this casting, and about the political direction that “True Blood” is going in for this season? Be sure to share some of your thoughts below, and you can also head on over to the link here in order to see what one of the other new faces on this season has to say.
