‘Glee’ season 4 spoilers: Chris Colfer, original New Directions reunited in photos
Just in case the recent photo of Cory Monteith in front of the William McKinley Jazz Ensemble drum was not enough to make you excited about the upcoming homage for “Don’t Stop Believin'” on “Glee” later this season, the new set of photos surely will.
The to images that we are sharing now come to us via executive producer Ryan Murphy, and they prove that they entire gang is indeed going to be back together for what looks like a reprisal of the song that first made these characters into some of the most-popular on TV. This remains to this date “Glee’s” most well-known performance, and also one of the most emotionally affecting. Before this, we didn’t even know that New Directions was going to be a thing; and now, they are the reigning national champions.
Of course, with such a bit decision comes a great bit of risk. Is Murphy doing the right thing in trying to recreate the magic of the pilot? Sometimes you can’t fully go back, and the last thing you want to do is include this in an episode to the extent that it feels tacked-on. We have heard rumors about this performance being tied to a very key moment for Lea Michele’s Rachel Berry, but there has been nothing confirmed on this subject yet.
We also hope that the revival of this song is going to mean that we will see more storylines coming up for all of the original cast members: while Chris Colfer’s Kurt has had some love this season, Mercedes (Amber Riley) has been off the show for most of the time while Artie (Kevin McHale) and Tina (Jenna Ushkowitz) have been relegated to just minor stories over the past several months.
