‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 6 spoilers: Kurt Sutter hints at mystery casting
Is there anything more frustrating than knowing that there is a new casting for a show, but not knowing who it is? Then again, while we complain, it’s also a pretty good chance to use your imagination … and we always prefer to know something than nothing at all.
In the latest edition of his “WTFSutter” video series on Friday, “Sons of Anarchy” showrunner Kurt Sutter announced that there is a new character that he has cast for season 6 already, but he isn’t able to talk about who is playing the part yet. He did, however, say that he specifically asked this person to play the part, and they obviously agreed to sign on.
The only other thing that we know about the character right now is that their role is someone fluid when it comes to airtime: depending on scheduling and the story, it is unclear how many episodes that they will appear in. This means that we’re looking at something more than just a cameo, but not necessarily a major arc in the same sense as Jimmy Smits or Harold Perrineau.
Sutter also talks in the video about turning in a draft of the season premiere (which he wrote), some of his writers starting work on episode 6×02 this weekend, and preparing for a big presentation in New York City with FX this coming week. For those of you looking to get a few more production details, he also explains how he tries to make a cable series look expensive even with a smaller budget, and how there are many tricks that he uses on this show that he picked up while working on “The Shield.”
Considering that Sutter has a reputation for thinking outside of the box for his casting, who do you want to see appear on “Sons of Anarchy” season 6? Be sure to share some of your thoughts below, and you can read some more scoop on possible time jumps and more over at the link here.
