ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 2, episode 16 review: About that Olivia / Fitz conversation…
After everything that Olivia and Fitz have went through on “Scandal,” who knew that their phone conversation would be one of the most devastating things that has ever happened to them? Within the span of just a few sort seconds, we learned that it was the betrayal of trust, and not the betrayal of actions, that really managed to tear the two apart.
This episode was certainly emotional from that standpoint, to say the least, and we don’t quite know where it takes these two now. Are they really over? Far from it, but Jake is starting to enter the picture more than ever. Mellie has been made aware of a few specific things (which is certainly dangerous), and Ms. Pope is getting at least a little bit closer to Scott Foley’s character.
While Huck told Quinn about the art of his job this week, the other scenes that we really figure will have people talking involve Lisa Edelstein, who gave a winning performance this week as a woman who was clearly in some serious need of help in a Supreme Court appointment scandal with a man that she supposedly had an affair with. This was a standalone story and we don’t imagine that we will be seeing the character again, but Liv definitely has to chalk this one up as a win for the time being: not only did they manage to get Sarah to keep her job and free from more scrutiny, but her husband’s concerns over a paternity test ended up dissipating by the time the hour was over.
Overall, what did you think about this “Scandal” episode, and did the Olivia / Fitz moment really stand out to you above everything else? If you want to read even more news pertaining to this hour, you can do so over at the link here.

I actually cried after Olitz phone call. It’s apparently that these two people are more deeply connected then they want us to believe. At least Fitz made the first step he called her for whatever excuse he wanted to use. I know what it’s like to be in-love like them I have that kind of relationship with my husband. What’s missing in this relationship is communication. You can’t put a bandage on it (by dating), you can’t piss it away (by drinking) but, you can begin the healing process by FORGIVIING. Trust can be rebuild it takes time.

It was certainly a winning performance Lisa Edelstein gave on this episode. Very impressive nuanced acting between Lisa and Kerry. Their scene at the table with the wine was incredibly raw and emotional.

I totally agree about Lisa Edelstein. Her big scene with Olivia brought tears to my eyes. So powerful.
