‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 6 spoilers: Exec teases mystery guest star

As we near the end of “The Big Bang Theory” season 6, we are going to have a visit from someone who is brand new to the show’s universe. Unfortunately, we just don’t know at the moment who this person is, or just what sort of role they will have in the story of Sheldon and his geeky friends.

Our only real clue as to the mystery man / woman’s identity comes from executive producer Bill Prady, who posted his following message on Twitter about what is going to be the 22nd episode of the season:

“Excited for the guest star at this morning’s table read (not from the world of scifi or science). Been a fan of this man all my life.”

The one great thing about “The Big Bang Theory” is that when you are this successful, there are very few limitations as to who you can convince to come on your show. Who doesn’t want this sort of exposure, especially if you are a serious actor and are looking to do something different? The only thing that makes this difficult is that the show does not really need stunt casting, so they only really ever book someone on if they really want them for a specific role. Regina King (“Southland”) is among the notable stars this year, while Kate Micucci is also in the middle of an extended arc as a love interest for Kunal Nayyar’s character of Raj. Some of the more common recurring players including Wil Wheaton and John Ross Bowie.
