‘Downton Abbey’ season 4: A new way to support Allen Leech, Ed Speleers
Even though “Downton Abbey” is currently in production of season 4, a pair of its actors are still finding the time to train and prepare for something else that will get them both very involved in the community: the Virgin London Marathon. Not only that, but they will both be raising money for extremely good causes.
Over the course of the past several days, Allen Leech (Tom Branson) and Ed Speleers (Jimmy) have used their respective social media pages in an effort to boost fundraising and awareness, and we wanted to give some of you who are not so Twitter-savvy an opportunity to know a little of what is going on. The marathon is taking place on April 21, and here are some details about each of the actors’ respective charities:
-Allen (donate here) is running for Centrepoint, which is a charity that works with the young homeless in the United Kingdom, and gives the opportunities and most of all hope for a better future.
-Ed (donate here) is running for Pets As Therapy, which uses a variety of dogs and cats in order to provide a sense of comfort and companionship for people desperately in need of both.
Both are wonderful charities, and you certainly will not go wrong if you donate to either one. We’ll provide a few more updates as to what the actors are doing a little bit closer to the marathon happening, so be sure to stay tuned for more on that. After all, we’re all about seeing celebrities using their platform to bring good to others, especially when these same people have helped to facilitate their own careers by turning on the TV every Sunday night.
