‘True Blood’ season 6 spoilers: The new villain looks like…
After having villains ranging from the insane (Russell Edgington) to the vindictive (Marnie, the one not played by Allison Williams) to the sensual (Salome), “True Blood” season 6 seems to be going in a different direction when it comes to their bad guys. Specifically, we’re talking about a character in Macklyn (played by Rutger Hauer) who looks like the love child of Mark Twain and Christopher Lloyd’s Doc from “Back to the Future.” Great Scott!
You can check out some of the first photos of the character here, and he is sporting a rather illustrious mane of white hair. Why the outlandish look? Macklyn seems to prefer to pretend as though he is trapped in an earlier time, as evidenced by the fact that he is also seen sporting a rather dapper suit while sporting a pipe. The ensemble actually looks like it would cause Hauer to be burning up under the sun of the show’s California sweat, but isn’t this what the makeup crew is for?
There is really not much known about the Macklyn character thus far, though there is some suspicion that this character is secretly Warlow, the vampire responsible for killing Sookie Stackhouse’s parents over a contract that went terribly awry. This character’s name was floated around quite a bit at the end of season 5, and the implication was that we were going to see both Sookie and Jason trying to search for some answers on the show moving forward.
What do you think about this character’s specific look? If you want to read some more scoop about what we are going to see from some other new vampires this season, you can do so over at the link here. There’s no announced premiere date yet for “True Blood” season 6, but we will have it for you here as soon as some more details are available.

Rutger won’t be playing Warlow in True Blood. His character will be “Nigel Brigant” renamed from Niall Brigant in the books. He’s Sookie’s great-great grandfather. More info can be found at our forum, or on Rutger’s official website.
