‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 6 spoilers: Is there more Leonard and Penny drama?

While Leonard and Penny are and will always likely be a key part of the story on “The Big Bang Theory,” it is also understandable that at the same time, fans want to see the two do more than just date and make snarky comments about other people. While their relationship has progressed a little bit more sense they flicked the “on” switch midway through season 5, they are still moving along at a glacial pace compared to Howard and Bernadette. (Then again, they are miles ahead of the tortoise known as Dr. Sheldon Cooper.)

So are we going to see the subject of marriage coming up again by the end of season 6? We’re sorry to burst your bubble, but it doesn’t sound quite like it. Speaking in a new interview with TVLine at the show’s PaleyFest event this week, executive producer Steve Molaro explained that the team is currently satisfied with the progression of the proposal storyline, and if there is anything to share here at all, it won’t happen to at least the finale (but this seems fairly unlikely, as well):

“We addressed that pretty well and won’t be hitting it any time soon … But when that springs back around, we know whose court the ball is in.”

Will we ever seen Penny get down on one knee, strange as that sounds, to put a ring on her own finger? We do see it happening eventually, but she needs to do a little bit more growing up as a character. We know that she loves Leonard, but does she fully love herself and her own life just yet? Hopefully, we’ll get a chance to hear more about her career prospects soon, and see her eventually land in a more stable place.
