‘Game of Thrones’ season 3 spoilers: New synopses shine light on Arya, Sansa
Even though “Game of Thrones” season 3 is still just over two weeks away from premiering on HBO, some more details are starting to come out about what is going to transpire in Westeros this season … and as you would expect, it’s looking to be a pretty incredible batch of episodes.
These new synopses (which come to us via SpoilerTV) do illuminate something that we said in talking about the premiere: as the season goes on, the details become more and more vague in an effort to not really give anything away. Ultimately, all they can really be used for are reminders that these characters are involved in the story, and diehard fans of the books will suddenly have a reason to be even more excited.
We will have more details from the fourth and fifth episodes of the season a little later in the weekend; but for now, here are the official details on episodes two and three.
3×02, “Dark Wings, Dark Words” – “Sansa says too much; Shae asks Tyrion for a favor; Jaime finds a way to pass the time; Arya encounters the Brotherhood Without Banners.”
3×03, “Walk of Punishment” – “Tyrion gains new responsibilities; Jon is taken to the Fist of the First Men; Daenerys meets with the slavers; Jaime strikes a deal with his captors.”
Even without saying anything about the actual storyline, these two synopses do make it clear that this is going to be a big season both for Tyrion and for Jaime, as the entire Lannister family potentially becomes even more scattered with Joffrey as ruler and Tywin as the hand. It is nice all the while to see the Stark girls getting some attention, as they have some of what may be the most intriguing stories this year.
