ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 2 spoilers: When do Olivia and Jake get a little closer?
While we certainly know that there are a pretty large contingent of “Scandal” fans out there hoping to see Olivia and Fitz back together soon, the reality is unfortunately this: it’s going to take a little while for this to happen, if it even does. The incident that they had earlier this season, when the President deliberately chose his career and being with Mellie over the affair, was a turning point, and despite their little tryst that we saw several months down the show’s timeline, there are still plenty of roadblocks to fight through.
Of course, there is also the little problem known as the fact that Olivia is actually trying to move on with her life now courtesy of a new man: Scott Foley’s character of Jake. ABC just released a short synopsis (via SpoilerTV) for the 17th episode entitled “Snake in the Garden,” and it gives us an indication of where the personal life for Kerry Washington’s woman in white is heading; not only that, but there is scoop on both Hollis and Fitz:
“Hollis Doyle’s daughter is kidnapped; Jake and Olivia take their relationship to the next level; Cyrus is determined to get back into the president’s good graces; Mellie tells Fitz that he needs to make some changes.”
So what sort of changes does Fitz need to make? It’s impossible to not really think about his story without imagining Olivia, mostly because the two characters’ worlds are so intertwined by this point. Plus, Mellie’s relationship with the man has always been so fractured, and while we may think that Olivia and Jake are doing fine, what would happen if Fitz is suddenly available to her again? With a title suggesting that serpents are on the loose, anything can happen.
What do you want to see happen moving forward on “Scandal” this season? If you want to see another stripped-down promo for the show focusing on Olivia front and center, you can do so over at the link here.

Scandal, and is more than affair, which is totally wrong anyway you twist it. I too at first was a Olitz fan, but one needs to know when it’s time to move on. If an individual doesn’t move on, we would never grow and find the person/destine to be. I am looking forward and not backwards. If the
fans are not going to watch because they don’t get what they want is betoynd shameful and crazy. Watch Scandal because it keeps us on the edge and threes alot of twist and turns, great writers and a great cast that .
didn’t get what they want then they we’re not true fans. Scandal entire cast is absolutely fantastic. I hope Shondarhimes

I love Scandal from the fierce women to the awesome stories. Ultimately the stories are about fierce women, starting with Olivia Pope. It is not about Olitz or JO or Dabby or HuckleberryQuinn, It is about how women navigate their power and their relationships. I love the enitire cast. I love the way they are developing the relationship between Jake and Olivia. They are not teenagers so the flirting is being done in a smart and sexy way. I’m a senior and find it is the best show on television. In the most recent episode, I loved some of the subtle but powerful little touches, such as the husband standing by his wife as she revealed to the world she had an affair with her married law professor. I loved watching two women sitting and talking about betrayal while drinking $300 wine straight from the bottle. Awesome!! I loved the fact that when Quinn returned sans her shirt with her breast and cleavage fully exposed, Huck never took his eyes off her face. Instead he offered a shirt. I loved Liv’s date/work outfit. I loved the fact that Top of the Hour, the title of the episode was done in the most amazing way. It’s worth watching several times. And I have to say I’m a huge Scott Foley fan so the fact that he’s on the show just multiplies my pleasure by 1000.. I think Huck is not only training Quinn. I think he’s using her to flush out the mole. Very, very interesting because if that’s the case, it means the training also involves betrayal. Mellie and Cyrus now know about Jake. Will they join forces against him? Truly an amazing addictive TV show.
Also, about Quinn as Huck’s understudy in the underworld

Thanks for the feed back Hallelujah Heroin. Deception isn’t Scandal but, it’s a great destration from it. So is Revenge.
Get ready Olitz fans; we all going to get very disappointed. Olitz are never going to be what we remember. They (writers) are trying to break it down to us easy. They are bottle feeding us their break up so, we will keep watching and hoping that there will be a reunion but, it won’t. There are so many signs; like the interaction with his son, his kids coming on the show later in the season, showing the softer side of Mellie with Teddy. The spying on Olivia is a front to make us feel that he’s still interested. However, Fitz found Olivia her new man Jake. I’m never going to be an OJ fan but I’m not ever going to be a writer neither. The plan is to have him to continue to be nasty to her and by the time they reveal to Fitz; that Olivia is the woman he thought she was; she would’ve moved on.:( Shonda will hope that we’ve moved on as well.I will agree that once Olivia finds out he was hired by Fitz thats how it may end.

Fitz & Olivia are the show. They must get back togather soon.
The show itself is good but the 2 main characters really make the show. It would not be a good thing for the veiwers.

I LIKE WHERE THE WRITERS ARE TAKING SCANDAL!! They have open up the Door to Scandal’s never ending scandals …. It is never over for Olivia & Fitz…. Jake is intriguing but once Olivia finds out that he has been hired by Fitz to keep an eye on her( which opens up so many new story lines ) ITS OVER!!! I am so looking forward tto the future with Scandal …… AND, by the way, Deception. SUCKS!!

I know how you feel. Maybe they’re searching for a different type of audience. What drew me into this show it’s slowly going down. Even if I don’t watch anymore I’ll always be an Olitz fan. Good Luck with OJ fans. Right now, I glad I started watching Deception it’s now started to get great. People looking for a different twist maybe try Deception for awhile.

Thanks for posting such an honest and blunt spoiler. I feel the spoilers and press interviews w/ cast and producers generally make clear that Fitz, Olivia are done for the foreseeable future. The scripts make it clear, too. No doubt excellent storylines will be created but the show is simply too depressing to watch at this point. I hoped the network would experiment with Scandal and give it the time it needs to tell the story–not create stuff just to fill a full season. Maybe new fans will enjoy it but as a fan who was there from the show’s beginning, I’m over it. I hope ABC finds a way to listen to viewers who are older and not on Twitter.

I love Olitz and JO because it is Olivia at the center of both. Right now, I want to see the relationship between Jake and Olivia develop. After Fitz screwed Liv literally and then immediately screwed her again figuratively by telling her it was his penis that made him do it and they’re done, it will take a LONG TIME before I can feel real excitment and love for teh Olitz.
