ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 5 finale spoilers: One early tease from series boss
Is it too early for us to really start handing down scoop on the “Castle” season 5 finale? We’re going to answer that question with a resounding “no,” and with that in mind, we present for you the latest teaser from executive producer Andrew W. Marlowe that promises that there is going to be something major (and also potentially heart-wrenching) in the works.
Speaking in a new interview with TVLine on the subject of this May episode, Marlowe explained that after a season that has brought up plenty of important story moments (meeting Castle’s father) along with comedic ones (the entire Comic-Con tribute), you better get our your handkerchiefs for what is coming up down the road next:
“We’re looking at a very emotional finale. We’re dealing with something very explosive, personally… ‘he says cryptically and mysteriously.’ Stay tuned!”
The tricky thing about Marlowe’s quote here is that the word “explosive” can be taken with so many different meanings attached to it. Is he talking about a major shocker in Castle’s personal life, like a possible engagement to Beckett? It’s possible just as it is also possible that we could be seeing James Brolin return, or Jack Coleman, or maybe even a villain like 3XK. Considering that this is the last episode of the season, though, you have to believe that there will be some sort of story that carries into what we have either seen on this or on past seasons.
Typically at this point in a season, there are not any sort of milestone hours coming up before the finale. However, that cannot be said here. The show also has its 100th episode airing in April, and it is something that is going to touch on some of the show’s spirit of fun more so than heavy drama.

I liked the ending of Always. It was a happy ending for the characters but a sinster cliff hanger for the next season. I did not like the season 2 ending because it was intended to hurt, and did. The season 3 ending was equally depressing. So I would like to see something that challenges Castle and Beckett’s relationship but gets wrapped up in a feel good ending; although with something sinister hanging out in the bushes for next season.

I truly hope they don’t breakup Caskett….that kind of stuff irritates me.

I feel like Marlowe and the writers want to bring Castle’s dad and Bracken in the next season. Well, as a Jack Coleman fan, I’d really like to see him in this season, well, and the next season. :P
