‘Dexter’ season 8: Michael C. Hall talks Yvonne Strahovski, romantic arc
So can a character like Dexter Morgan really find love? That was something that we found ourselves asking through much of the Showtime drama’s seventh season, and it is something that we will likely end up asking again as the show nears the end … at least based on what one of the show’s stars in Michael C. Hall is saying at this very moment.
In a new video interview (which you can watch here), the actor explained that one of the joys of signing up for two seasons following the end of season 4 was the opportunity to tell a story that could be stretched more over the course of a couple of years; and when asked about Yvonne Strahovski’s character of Hannah McKay, who served as both a love interest and an enemy at times, Hall did not rule out the possibility of there still being some romance ahead for the character.
“I think that’s a question that we will take with us as we go into these final episodes … Possibility is alive in Dexter when it comes to what he allows himself to hope for…”
Granted, it should be said that there has been no word at all as to whether or not Strahovski will return in season 8, and she has not been spotted at all during taping thus far. However, the production team is currently working on the second episode (which Hall himself is directing), so there is plenty of time for her or even another possible love interest from the past (in Julia Stiles’ Luman, who we contend was still the right woman for him) to return if the writers and producers deem it so.
If this is the final season for “Dexter,” which Les Moonves seemed to suggest recently that it was, then expect to see all sorts of questions for Dexter to be answered, whether it be life, death, romance, and even happiness.
