‘American Idol’ notes: Adam Lambert, Jessica Sanchez on ‘Glee,’ Lee DeWyze
A few hours before we learn who are the top 10-12 on this season of “American Idol,” why not share some of what is going on with some of the show’s most-popular contestants? We’ll begin with something that we know that all Adam Lambert fans love to hear: a new cover song from his Asia tour.
If you grew up listening to Tears for Fears, this will be right up your alley: “Shout.” As it turns out, quite a few people in Hong Kong were familiar with the song based on them singing along to the chorus, and on a different note, didn’t Adam’s version of the song remind you of why this was a hit in the first place? It’s a great song with serious rock vibes, but there’s also a bit of funk in there. Plus, we had a solo here to boot from Tommy Joe Ratliff.

Jessica Sanchez’s “Glee” call – Good news for those of you interested in seeing Jessica Sanchez make her debut on another Fox series soon: she just got a phone call when it comes to her upcoming appearance on “Glee.”
Speaking in a new interview with MTV News, last year’s runner-up explained just why she was so excited to be a part of this show, and how it marks an important new step in her career to continually try new things:
“As far as ‘Glee,’ I have no script yet … I’ll be taping very, very soon. I got a call from them, like, a couple days ago, very, very excited. I’ve been practicing my acting. It’s like a whole new element for me. I’ve never acted before, so I mean, it’s just like dancing; it’s unexpected. So we’ll see how I do.”
If we had to guess, Sanchez’s “Glee” arc is probably going to either air in late April, which is great promotion with the end of “American Idol” season 12.
A Lee DeWyze update – Since we’re big fans of all things Lee here, it would be wrong to not provide some sort of new update on what he is up to with his Vanguard Records debut. After alternating between traveling for shows and spending some time in the studio, he revealed recently on Twitter that he is getting closer to finishing up the recording process.
There still is no confirmed release date, but the important thing to emphasize here is that he is taking the time to make the album that he wants to. Of course, we’ll have much more information here once it is available.

TO MI::: I am 100% percent agreed. Copied and pasted. All I can add to that >> When Jessica Sanchez sings, you can feel the passion in her voice and her being natural with the MUSIC. We already had witnessed her greatness when it comes to singing though i am looking forward to those who are handling/managing her career to give her a push for chances to show/share more of her abilities to the world of MUSIC. A kind of Jessica’s talent should not be wasted.
Acting is one of the big opportunities for her to try and enjoy. She deserves the chance. We love you Jessica Sanchez.

Watching American Idol this year all I can think about is Jessica Sanchez. Candice should have made top 10 last year and Angela and Cree are really fantastic singers and I think one of those three will win. I think when you say Jessica Sanchez you’re talking about a whole higher level. I don’t believe there is a song that Jessica couldn’t sing. She has so much range and a special tone when she sings. Steven Tyler said it best when he told her “you leave us hanging on every note” and when Jennifer told her “you’re vocals just make everything go away”. Jessica is a singer that comes along once every couple generations and she will be a superstar. Last season she had me riveted to my tv screen I couldn’t stop watching until she was done singing. It’s way past time to release her music.

I’m not sure about Lee taking his time to make the album he wants. That’s what Adam Lambert did and he took a little too long. TRESPASSING is awesome though. But you need to strike while the iron is still hot.

I can’t wait for Jessica Sanchez to release her album and be a part of Glee…she is a multi-talented artist who can really sing in different genres of music. She is super talented and can’t wait to see and hear more of her work. She’s been busy all over the place from singing in the Democratic Convention, singing at the NBA Finals, singing at the Brit Awards, singing at the big Pacquiao fight etc. etc.

Lee DeWyze is the best ever! I flew 8,000 Miles to see him live in LA from AUSTRALIA. So worth every penny. The young man is a genious! I love all his music new and old. He is just so humble to the core and for real LOVE it. I have memories to treasure for a lifetime. He also spent some time with me with some of his friends family and beautiful wife Jonna after the show. He’s the BEST!Can’t wait for the new album , single and of course an AUSTRALIAN TOUR! xoxo

So Sanchez is going to guest on GLEE? WTF??? Glamberts have been begging GLEE to invite Adam on one of their shows for years! SMH And Adam’s cover of Shout was awesome, never heard him sing anything that I didn’t love.
