ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 5 spoilers: Nathan Fillion, Stana Katic go mental
Two weeks from Monday night, “Castle” season 5 is set to return to TV, and it will be venturing to a very creepy place as a result. We know already that part of this episode will take place at an asylum that is thankfully much more modern than the one featured throughout this past season of “American Horror Story,” and it will have a story that is decidedly similar to “The Ring”: there is supposedly a tape out there that causes people to die, and so Nathan Fillion’s character thus begins to freak out after he watches it on accident.
The photo attached here is from the article, and it features Castle along with Beckett walking through this new environment. Thus far, it is unclear as to whether or not Beckett knows the full extent of what Castle has been through as of late, which includes all of the exploits of the Paris trip in detail. However, they may also be so preoccupied for the time being that they really don’t have much time to think about it.
Following the serious nature of that two-parter, expect to see more of a lighthearted show in the next month and a half, as the series often tends to take on a more comedic tone in the weeks between the February and May sweeps. We are sure that there will be some more serious hours that come up as we arrive at the end of the year, but there are very few details available on that right now.
What do you want to see transpire during this episode? Be sure to share some of your thoughts below, and be sure to also head over to the link here in order to find out a little bit more about whether or not we will be seeing Castle’s father return at some point before the end of the season.

i agree about Gates character, she doesn’t fit. i would also like to see Castle and beckett’s character be more open. We waited 4 years for this. Castle’s father, Brolin’s character should be in another episode or two. it would be great to see the relationship between castle’s family, beckett and him evolve. remember the Hart to Hart and Mr. and Mrs. north series.

Excellent comments J. Totally agree with you about Gates. I am sure she is well aware of the ‘Caskett’ situation and it does need to come out.. I do like the two parters though it gives the show some gravitas. Whilst we are moving on, I do hope that Castle has told Beckett the whole story regarding his father, otherwise it may incite some concerns she looked to have had following the Meredith debacle. I think we are now in for a few of those fun episodes which are always great before the end of the season. I also agree with you about ‘Recoil’. This was a wonderfully datrk and powerful episode.

Maybe we will have something like the episode when Castle thought he was cursed by a mummy. I tend toward the lighthearted shows more than the heavy ones. While I liked the Target / Hunt two parter, my favorite “heavy” this season was “Recoil”. That episode started dark and stayed dark. The music in that episode was phenomenal as well and it set the dark, serious tone just as much as the action. I really like the Det Beckett character and it is good to see her struggle with the same moral issues that would affect the rest of us (although I also love to see her kick chairs out from under smart alecs and kick doors down wearing high heels!). The one weak piece of the ongoing storyline is Captain Gates. She seems clueless most of the time and that does not respect the position that she is in. She knows Rick and Kate are together so lets get it out in the open and resolved so that we can recapture that oldtime togetherness at work. I want these two to be together but they are now afraid that they will look like they are together so they seem less together than when they were not together!!
