‘Dexter’ season 8 spoilers: Michael C. Hall directing episode
As if Michael C. Hall did not have enough to do on “Dexter” as it is, he is now taking on a new challenge for the second episode of season 8: director. In a new post on Twitter, his co-star Jennifer Carpenter confirmed the news that Hall is currently in the director’s chair for “Every Silver Lining” … and that he’s not an easy guy to impress:
“If u thought he was a good actor just wait for 802 Michael C. Hall, director! & I quote “Don’t f**k up your line.” Wish he’d started yrs ago.”
This funny line aside, we always wonder just what it must be like for some actors to suddenly have someone they have worked aside for so many years now trying to instruct them in a different way. This will be the first time that Hall has directed any episode of TV; as a matter of fact, he is not listed as a director for anything on his IMDb page. However, you have to imagine that the guy knows what he is going based on his lengthy history in TV and film plus his education at NYU. He’s also hardly the first actor of a cable series to step into the director’s chair, as Jon Hamm and John Slattery have directed “Mad Men” episodes over the years.
Hall’s debut will air on July 7, and is made even more impressive by the quick turnaround the show has been forced to take thanks to the move by Showtime of the series from the fall to the summer in order to accommodate the launch of both “Ray Donovan” and “Masters of Sex.”
