‘Dexter’ season 8 spoilers: What is next for Debra Morgan?

During the opening stages of “Dexter” season 8, we are going to have some answers when it comes to what happens to a number of key characters. You have Batista trying to decide whether or not he really wants to leave the force in order to run a restaurant, Quinn figuring out whether or not the future of his love life includes Angel’s baby sister Jamie, and of course the future of Dexter and Debra Morgan after killing LaGuerta in cold blood during the season 7 finale.

There are still many details about the aftermath of this killing that are still unclear, including just how big of a time jump the series is going to be making between the end of season 7 and the start of season 8, but based on some of what we are hearing right now, Deb is going to really waste no time feeling sorry for herself on the show.

The series is currently shooting their premiere set to air June 30, and we are going to potentially see a side of Deb that we really have not seen since the early years on the show. Without giving anything away, let’s just say that she will be sporting a very different sort of look than her business suit and police badge. Could she be working undercover? The answer here may be yes, but even if so you still have to wonder just who she is working undercover for.

One thing we can say? If you thought that “Dexter” season 7 was intense when it comes to what Deb was going through, imagine how she feels now that she is fully responsible for killing a woman who was her boss for a big chunk of her life.
