‘The Walking Dead’s’ Lauren Cohan to guest star on ‘Law & Order: SVU’
After many years now of making her name for herself on such genre shows as “The Vampire Diaries,” “Chuck,” and “The Walking Dead,” Lauren Cohan is now taking on a role that is much more grounded in reality.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actress is set to guest-star on an upcoming episode of “Law & Order: SVU,” where she will be playing the role of a sports reported named Avery Jordan who becomes the victim of a sex crime via her cameraman. To make matters even more tragic for her, the act results in her getting pregnant.
This episode, like many others for the long-running NBC series, is going to be one that carries with it a “ripped from the headlines” theme. The story is going to be loosely based on some comments from Senator Todd Akin back in 2012, and Jordan’s character is somehow going to be thrust front and center into a debate during the hour.
If you are worried for whatever reasons that Cohan’s gig here means that her time on “The Walking Dead” as Maggie is over, don’t be: while the show has a pretty expansive history of killing characters off, the series will not be starting off production on season 4 for at least a couple of months. This gives Cohan plenty of opportunities to film this guest role, and then prepare again to play Glenn’s love interest and one of the series’ most-popular characters. She still has a role to play throughout the rest of season 3, so we will just have to see what develops there.
