‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 9 spoilers: What are we NOT going to see before finale?
This, ladies and gentlemen, is called Shonda Rhimes throwing you a bone. After having to suffer through the extremely emotional end to “Grey’s Anatomy” last season courtesy of the plane crash (which is obviously still playing a major part in the lives of our characters), it looks like we are not going to be put through the same sort of trying and emotional sequence of events again.
Speaking as a part of a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Rhimes was kind enough to put us out of our misery by confirming that there are not going to be any cast departures barring unforeseen circumstances between this season and the tenth premiering in September (at least so long as it is renewed, which feels like a given). She also goes on to explain some of the difficulties that are still facing the doctors, including some of the resentment our wealthy doctors are going to feel after making the rash decision to spontaneously resign in an effort to keep the Pegasus group from buying Seattle Grace:
“You’re going to see them feel the burden of what they’ve done … It’s not that they weren’t right to do it, but there’s definitely a sense of resentment that comes from other people because they have this money and the money has now has made everything harder for everyone else.”
As for what doctor could end up having the brightest spotlight on him moving forward, the answer here has to be Owen given that he was the doctor responsible for signing off on the plane to begin with, and now he is chartered with trying to right what is a sinking ship.
