‘Britain’s Got Talent’: David Walliams announces return date for new season
If you love “Britain’s Got Talent,” then we have some good news coming your way now: ITV has just confirmed when we will be seeing the likes of Simon Cowell and David Walliams together again on our TV screens.
While the network has not yet confirmed the date, the comedian Walliams responded to a fan question by saying that the series will return on Saturday, April 13 with new episodes. Last year, the one word that you could really use to describe the series was “transition.” You had new judges, the return of Cowell as a full-time fixture to the panel, and also some new competition via “The Voice” UK. However, it turned out that Britain grew less and less interested in the singing competition as time went by. While the show was a significant rival to Cowell during the early stages of the competition, it eventually was destroyed routinely by “Britain’s Got Talent” in the live rounds.
So can someone top winners Ashleigh & Pudsey this time? We anticipate a number of subpar dog acts following success stories both here and on “America’s Got Talent” in the past year, and there will also likely be a number of strong singers and dancers as per usual. If there is one thing that this show really needs above all else, though, it is a star like Susan Boyle or Paul Potts that causes the world to take notice. While dog acts are entertaining, the problem here is that there are only so many tricks over time that you can see them do. Meanwhile, singers, magic acts, and comedians all tend to have a little bit more mainstream appeal.
