‘Dancing with the Stars’ rumors: ‘Honey Boo Boo’s’ Mama June says no to gig

Well, the following is either going to be good or bad news depending on how you look at it. Despite being on the reported wish list for possible contenders for the upcoming season of “Dancing with the Stars,” a certain older star of “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” has decided that she is not interested in putting on her dancing shoes.

Speaking to The Huffington Post, a rep for TLC dismisses the claims that we are about to see the famous “Mama” June Shannon appear on the ABC competition, which is a shame from a pure entertainment standpoint. June could not have been any worse than the last TLC star to appear on the show in Kate Gosselin, and she has talked recently about losing 100 pounds over the course of the last year thanks simply to all of the running around she does because of the family’s show.

From the standpoint of June, we understand perfectly why she may not have any interest at all in taking on a gig like this. For one, “Dancing with the Stars” would require her to spend at least half of the week away from her family, and it would be while her children are in school. While you may not like the family or the show, it’s hard to protest that June likes to be very involved in the lives of Honey Boo Boo and company. She does not seem to be interested in much fame for herself, and she is very careful about making sure that all of the kids are set up for their future courtesy of the money that they are earning.

In addition to this, Shannon could be worried about looking too much like a fish out of water on the ballroom floor. While she puts herself out there on “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” she does so surrounded by people who are at least relatively similar to her.
