‘Dancing with the Stars’ rumors: ‘Bachelorette’ Emily Maynard, ‘Honey Boo Boo’ star
Ready for the latest edition of “Dancing with the Stars” rumors? Before we dive into these, let’s start things off by revealing that the cast announcement for the spring season will come during the March 26 edition of “Good Morning America,” which is the show’s recent tradition for seasons featuring new celebrities. (Before that, they tended to make the announcement during “The Bachelor.”)
While no cast member has been firmly set in stone at this time, there are a number of names that are floating around there … and they range from being interesting to rather polarizing depending on just how many reality TV stars you want to see on a given season. These names come to us courtesy of the New York Daily News, and are just people that ABC is considering, meaning that no formal offer has been made.
Emily Maynard – If you are going to name a “Bachelor” personality, this one makes the most sense. She’s still popular with many fans of the show even though things haven’t quite worked out for her during either of her two appearances, and she has that sort of relatable quality that will make her easy for many other moms out there to root for. We don’t know if she has any dance experience, but this is certainly one to watch.
Kourtney Kardashian – Really? We’re not quite so interested here, mostly because the show has already dipped into the Kardashian family tree twice. Three times would just feel desperate, and the family has just as many people who hate them as they do people who love them.
“Mama” June Shannon – This is a choice we would love. If you’re going to get a reality TV star, why not the woman behind “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo”? We know that the show is completely obnoxious, but couldn’t she have the potential to be ratings gold, especially with her kid in the audience? Ultimately, June has turned out to be the star of her show just as much as her daughter has.
Victor Ortiz – As a boxer, his circle of fans is very different than the crew who watches this show. But considering that it has been a while since there was a boxer on the show, this is probably the most likely casting of this entire group.
