‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 9, episode 16 preview: Let’s hope Patrick Dempsey is right
On Thursday night’s new “Grey’s Anatomy” episode, we witnessed the doctors of Seattle Grace Mercy West (or at least the ones with settlement cash in their pocket from the plane crash) make what is an extremely bold move in an effort to keep the place from being sold to the evil powers-that-be over at Pegasus: they all simultaneously tendered their resignation. This is not a move that some of the people still working at the hospital are surely going to appreciate, as it will allow the place to really descend into chaos.
For one, how is the hospital going to successfully treat all of its patients with so many people being over-worked courtesy of a shortage of employees, The move was obviously designed to make the hospital board recognize how badly they are needed, and also just how much they would be better suited to own the hospital than some group with a shoddy-at-best track record.
Unfortunately, there’s still no guarantee that the promise of Patrick Dempsey’s Derek that “no one will lose their jobs” will end up being true. Everyone is putting themselves at an enormous risk by making this move, and not just professionally. It looks as though Cristina and Owen have even more trouble on the horizon, and with the two now being legally divorced, it is going to be far easier for one of them to walk away from the other and go about living their life again.
What do you think is going to happen not just with the hospital, but with the doctors’ jobs? Be sure to share some of your thoughts below, and you can read last night’s “Grey’s Anatomy” review (if you have not already) by clicking the link here.
