‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4 spoilers: Joseph Morgan touches on Klaus’ path
At some point on “The Vampire Diaries” season 4, we are going to have a fuller opportunity to see just why Klaus decides to take off to New Orleans, and start up the storyline that is eventually going to become the much-anticipated spin-off series “The Originals.” Luckily, that opportunity is going to be coming up on the show sooner rather than later.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly in a new interview about his character’s upcoming arc, Joseph Morgan was a little bit hesitant to reveal too much … though he did promise that the Klaus we end up seeing during the backdoor pilot may actually be a little bit different than the one who has wrecked havoc in Mystic Falls for much of the past several seasons:
“I’m terrified I’m gonna say something I’m not supposed to, but there’s some huge, huge transitions and some reveals that will change the character forever…. We’re gonna see some tremendous moments of vulnerability, but he is so, I wanna swear, badass. We’re gonna see him cooler than he’s ever been before.”
There were a few other interesting details that were shared in this report about the show, including that despite the pilot doing some filming in the Big Easy, “The Originals” would be shot almost entirely in Atlanta in order to make crossovers between the two series possible (which is likely, given that there are so many characters who do have connections here from one world to the other). The real question we have is if casual fans of the mainstay show will stick around for the spin-off, sicne two hours a week is a lot to ask of some people (especially those without DVRs). With that being said, diehard “Vampire Diaries” fans should find a lot to like here.
