‘Glee’ season 4, episode 14 preview: Ryder gets involved with Marley and Jake
Even though Ryder lost out on the Dating Marley Sweepstakes on “Glee,” you have to hand this guy a trophy for being one of the nicest guys in existence. After all, he is still strangely willing to help out his new pal Jake when it comes to setting up the perfect way to impress his girlfriend come Valentine’s Day.
As you can see in the videos below, Jacob Artist’s character starts things off by asking his pal what is the best thing for him to do with Marley. Apparently, Jake has been taking most of his advice from the likes of Puck … which is never a good thing, especially when you consider that his current girlfriend is a sophomore in high school (in Kitty). With this in mind, he didn’t really understand just how big of a deal the holiday really was.
Thanks to Ryder’s suggestions, Jake does end up going above and beyond with another performance that was certainly sweet to hear. Is it another great musical number for Artist? Definitely, but the one thing we are somewhat worried about at the moment is that “American Idol” is over-saturating themselves with sweet performances from Jake towards Marley. After a while, they start to lose their luster if they occur a little too often; and with that in mind, we hope that they dial a little bit for a few weeks now to give these two characters something else to focus on.
Do you like this performance, and are you keen to see even more sweet songs to Marley from Jake on “Glee” in the future? (It’s possible that we’re just being a Valentine’s Day scrooge here.) If you want to see the return of Finchel for the first time in 2013, be sure to check out the “Glee” scene from Thursday night here.
