‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 3 spoilers: Troian Bellesario on Spencer’s spiral

At the very end of Tuesday night’s “Pretty Little Liars” season 3 episode, we were finally starting to see some signs that Spencer Hastings was getting back to her old self … albeit rather slowly. She arrived at the hospital to see about her half-brother Jason DiLaurentis, and even uttered a very subtle “sorry” to the girls for her behavior.

So with this admission in mind, is it possible that Spencer is finally done with her downward spiral? Far from it. As a matter of fact, actress Troian Bellisario says in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter that there is a major admission coming up for her character, and it is going to make things for her much worse before they are made better:

“There’s always a new level of rock bottom with the girls. The moment when we tease when Spencer tells the girls [about Toby], it not’s just going to make everything go away and everything’s going to be OK because now she has the girls to lean on. ‘A’ told her very specifically if you do this, there will be consequences for you to suffer. Spencer’s fiercely loyal and fiercely protective of her girls and that’s what’s going to drive her further down the rabbit hole.”

As for what is coming up down the line for Bellisario, she teased that there will be one episode in particular that represents Spencer truly hitting rock bottom more than she has already, and we are also primed to get to know Wren and some of the secrets that he has been hiding.
