‘Once Upon a Time’ season 2, episode 14 preview: Baelfire revealed

Over the course of the past several weeks, a question has been brewing among the “Once Upon a Time” faithful: is Rumpelstiltskin really the father of Neal Cassady, the man who is seemingly Henry’s father? This theory began with the opening episode of the season based on some clues in his apartment in New York, and it continued when we had the opportunity to learn a little bit more about him “Tallahassee.”

Now, we are almost at the point where we can find out for certain. Next week’s episode “Manhattan” will feature Mr. Gold, Emma, and Henry all in New York, and based on the brief image of the man that Emma chases down on the street, it sure looks a great deal like Mr. Cassady if you pause the frame for long enough. Plus, the look of shock on her face when she realizes who she is looking at is also just about all of the evidence that you need.

Unfortunately, this episode is not going to be entirely one giant family reunion. After all, one of the other major highlights for the week will be getting the opportunity to see what happens when Captain Hook learns that his archenemy is vulnerable when he is not in Storybrooke, and he thus embarks on a quest of his own to kill him using a dagger that should be familiar to longtime fans of the show. If Neal does turn out to be his son, then this will give Emma yet another reason to try to protect him; after all, he will suddenly then become Henry’s grandfather.
