‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4, episode 13 review: Is Damon actually [spoiler]?
Well, this was not an ending that we saw coming for “The Vampire Diaries” this week. “Into the Wild” brought us a number of close calls for many of our beloved characters, but the fate of one fan favorite still seemingly hands in the balance … and it is hardly who we expected.
In the closing minutes of this episode, we saw Ian Somerhlader’s Damon face off against a member of The Five not named Jeremy, and in turn ended up getting his neck snapped. Is he going to live to see another day? We’d be stunned if it doesn’t happen, but whatever happens to Damon in the weeks ahead could be game-changing for both the character and the future of the show.
In speaking of game-changers, what did you think about the Klaus / Caroline scene? If there was ever evidence that this pairing is never going to happen, it’s this as Joseph Morgan’s character ended up coming very close to killing his one-time love interest off as punishment to Tyler helping to orchestrate the death of Kol, which was in turn retaliation on the death of Carol Lockwood. At the end of the day, though, Caroline somehow managed to yet again open up the one ounce of sympathy that Klaus has in his heart; and thus, she looks like she will live to see another day.
While Shane and Bonnie seem to be descending on the cure rather quickly, the final story worth noting here is seeing Elena actually seems to be making the peace with Rebekah for the time being … even though the latter (brought to the island with Stefan) still does not trust her in the slightest.
