‘American Idol’ notes: Jessica Sanchez, Carrie Underwood, and Kelly Clarkson

Are you read for Hollywood Week to be here on “American Idol”? We definitely are; but before we even come to this, we have some breaking news to share on the Grammy front.

In what may be even further news that former contestants are taking over after Jennifer Hudson had the chance to perform a beautiful “God Bless America” with the Sandy Hook Elementary School choir Sunday night, both Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood have each been officially booked to perform at the 2013 Grammy Awards that are airing on CBS this coming Sunday. These two will be joining current show judge Keith Urban, “Canadian Idol” alum Carly Rae Jepsen, and such non-singing competition stars as Frank Ocean, Rihanna, fun., and Mumford & Sons.

This is probably going to one of the greatest musical events of the year (we’re personally looking forward to the duet between Ed Sheeran and Elton John), so for Carrie and Kelly it has to be honor just to be included on the list.

Jessica Sanchez’s new ad – As you may remember from last year, reigning runner-up Jessica Sanchez is a new spokesperson for the clothing brand Bench in the Philippines, and the photo to the left is part of their new summer collection. It’s really hard to describe the level of fame that she has in the island country, so to see her getting so many opportunities to be glamorous there is no surprise.

This reveal here comes just ten days before the singer is going to perform her first solo concert in Manila, and Colton Dixon (who we spoke to prior to the release of his album “A Messenger”) is going to serve as his opening act.
