‘Glee’ season 4 song spoilers: Lea Michele, Chris Colfer take on ‘Bring Him Home’
On Thursday night’s new episode of “Glee” season 4, we are going to see a moment that really harkens back to the early days of the show. How so? Rachel (Lea Michele) and Kurt (Chris Colfer) are going to both be performing the same song similar to how they did with “Defying Gravity,” and it is once again going to be from a popular musical.
However, you have to imagine at the moment that Michele has the advantage. Why? She has a lengthy history with the musical “Les Miserables” dating back to her early days on Broadway, so “Bring Him Home” is probably a song that holds an enormous place in her heart. Personally, it’s one of the best songs from the entire production from an emotional standpoint, and this is a very smart time for the show to cover something from “Les Mis” considering the success of the recent feature film.
In what is a rare move that also brings “Defying Gravity,” the show has also released two separate versions of the song that each give Michele and Colfer’s characters a chance to shine in the spotlight. Both are fantastic, and which one you enjoy more really is going to come down to personal preference. While we think that Rachel probably has the stronger vocals overall of the two characters, Kurt completely nails the emotional connection to the song. If you’re not tearing up by the end of at least one of these two performances … well, we may very well question the existence of your soul.
Which one of these “Bring Him Home” performances do you love the most? Be sure to vote in our poll below, and you can also watch the full “Diva” performance from Thursday’s episode over at the link here.
