ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 5 spoilers: Is Ryan ready for his spotlight episode?

Just as we already had an episode of “Castle” season 5 that put most of its attention squarely of Jon Huertas’ character of Esposito, another detective in Ryan is about to have a showcase all his own … even though it is not going to happen until at least the end of March (depending on when ABC decides to schedule repeats before “Dancing with the Stars”).

This episode is going to be the second one that airs after the epic two-part installment in late February that takes Castle and Beckett overseas, and according to a new report from SpoilerTV, it carries with it the title of “The Wild Rover.” There is not too much known about the hour just yet, but the website also reports that we are going to be meeting a tavern owner in Staten Island named Siobhan who has a connection to Ryan’s past.

As for some of the other characters coming up, they all seem to have more of an attachment to the Irish mob than they do to Ryan. This part of the story is a little bit disappointing, if only because there have already been a good many stories about the mob that we have seen play out on various shows over the years. Do we really need to see even more of it, especially after we already had a mob-centered “Castle” in the fall. Granted, it is at least a different sort of mob than the one we saw on the show previously.
