‘The X Factor’ USA notes: Tate Stevens, Khloe Kardashian, Fifth Harmony
Let’s dive right in to this Friday edition of “The X Factor” USA notes with some big news: Tate Stevens will actually have his debut album out at some point this spring. A new press release came out on Thursday making it official, and also confirmed (as if we needed further verification here) that his first original song “Holler If You’re With Me” will be featured in a music video during the 2013 Grammy Awards. Here is what Tate had to say about the track during the release:
“Having chased this dream for nearly a decade, I was certainly familiar with the concept of a music video, but I had no idea what to expect. In spite of the 50 mph winds, everyone on the set had a great time. It’s a party song and so it was only fitting that we threw a party! I’m sure more than a few folks watching the GRAMMYs at home can relate.”
We still think that Tate would have been better suited for the Super Bowl like last year’s champion Melanie Amaro, but this was not really his choice to begin with. On a different note, who else finds it interesting that Tate’s album may actually come out before Melanie’s does?
Khloe Kardashian talks improvement – At the moment, the status of Khloe moving forward into season 3 is unclear; but for those of you who do love to hate on her performance, you have to give her a little bit of a break here based on some of her refreshingly-honest comments in a new interview with “Good Morning America.” After all, she admitted that her performance was not th ebest in the world, but said she improved as time went by:
“It was so fun! It was my first time ever hosting anything, especially on live TV. I felt like with every show I got better and better and my confidence [increased] … At the very last show I was like, ‘Wait, I’m just getting in the groove!’ And it’s over!”
Khloe was not in our minds the best host, but we will say this: she was far better than Mario Lopez, and as a backstage interviewer without a teleprompter she would be great for the show.
Some Fifth Harmony fun – Want to get Normani Kordei to 200,000 followers? The group has been campaigning hard to go to her Twitter and give her some love. It’s largely quiet still on the Fifth Harmony front when it comes to new music plans, but we know that they have a record deal … and based on her Twitter feed, we also know that Normani is a pretty avid “Pretty Little Liars” fan.

i saw carly and russ’s performance tonight on stageit.com and i thought it was amazing. carly is so sweet and cute and real. i like her brother, but he is not the one i really wanted to see. but she is very close with her brother and she wants him to be a part of things so i respect that and accept it. as far as her singing it was incredible, again she sang the songs better than the originals just like she did on x-factor with her covers. this girl is simply phenomenal.

I loved her performance. But I don’t get why her brother always has to be there. unless she needs him to talk cuz she seems a little shy and awkward.

ok I saw Carly’s stage it Q and A today. She needs to really work on her lack of a personality. I love her, but fans will get turned off by her attitude. It was kind of mean the way she slapped her brother’s hand for clapping after they performed Ed Sheeran’s song. She comes off kind of mean. just my opinion. plus she really needs help with her upper range its almost non-existent. no high notes at all. just belting. I will applaud her when she can hit Mariah Carey’s notes.
