‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4, episode 13 preview: ‘Into the Wild’ with Shane

Is this mess with Professor Shane almost done and over with on “The Vampire Diaries”? If nothing else, we should find out during Thursday night’s “Into the Wild” episode just whether or not there really is some sort of vampire cure out there to be discovered, and what this man’s intentions really are.

Even though the show did not move production very far for this episode, the producers did do a great job nonetheless of creating this sort of Maritime Canadian setting for the characters to roam around on. This is an island stuffed full of secrets, but it also looks as though it is an island where they are not particularly wanted. Shane proclaims that there is a “different sort of magic” running through this place, which means that it far more unpredictable than anything that we have seen from Bonnie Bennett.

Being that Shane’s own word convinced these people to travel pretty far, it is not going to take very long at all for frustration to settle in … especially with Damon. During one particularly heated scene during the promo below, he basically informs the Professor that he wants to find the cure, or otherwise he is just wasting his time. You’d think that an immortal vampire would have some time to give, but that appears to not really be the case.

This is going to be the first episode located within the February sweeps, and we can’t stress this part enough: we are in for quite a treat. The events that unfold here will shape the course of the season in a very big way, especially since not everyone is going to be getting off this island in just one episode.
