‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 3, episode 17 review: Did Aria tell Ezra [spoiler]?
When we first heard that the title for Tuesday night’s “Pretty Little Liars” was “Out of the Frying Pan, Into the Inferno,” we knew that there was going to be some pretty crazy stuff that unfolded. What we did not expect was that everything would be as awful as it was.
First, we had Spencer turning into a little masochist. She gave up on trying to figure out Alison’s killer, distanced herself from her friends by explaining that “A” had a reason to feed off of them, and looked like a disheveled mess for the entire episode as she ultimately decided to try and meet with someone (presumably Toby) … but they unfortunately never showed. Instead, she decided to hire some sort of private investigator that looks like Tony Hawk to try and figure out just where the mysterious “A” key goes to.
As for some of the other stories, they were hardly any better. Spencer was tricked into revealing the truth about Ezra’s baby to him, which of course means that Aria’s personal life may be completely in tatters as Ezra is taking off to meet his son. We’re starting to think that the same could be said now for Emily, as Hannah underwent a covert mission, saw Paige flirting with some other woman while at a gay bar, and then got busted for underage drinking even though she was not really boozing it up at all. For whatever reason (obviously to minimize heartbreak), she decided that it would be better to not disclose the secret tryst to Emily just yet. It really was not a good hour of television for any of the characters, and the sight of seeing a Hanna doll set on fire at the very end certainly doesn’t help to make us feel comfortable about what we are going to see next week.
Which “pretty little liar” do you feel the most sympathy for after this terribly painful episode of the show? Be sure to share your thoughts below, and you can watch some videos from this episode over at the link here.
