‘The X Factor’ USA notes: Carly Rose Sonenclar’s parade, Ne-Yo rumors

Odds are if you are a Carly Rose Sonenclar fan, you knew that there was a parade happening on Sunday in her honor in the small New York village of Mamaroneck; however, what you may not have known is just what sort of big news was announced at the event when it came to her recording career moving forward.

According to a local Patch reporter who was on the scene, Carly is in the process of negotiating a contract with “The X Factor” exec Simon Cowell’s Syco record label, and it is something that could be completed at the end of the week. This more or less serves as confirmation to something that just about everyone assumed was going to be happening: Carly Rose is in fact going to have a recording contract pending some last-second shocker. There are a number of reasons why her negotiation may have taken longer than some of the other singers, but it is really unfair to really speculate on it more so than that. For now, let’s just be thrilled that the talented teen is going to get an opportunity to record some more music moving forward.

The latest rumors – Meanwhile, the talk about Ne-Yo possibly joining the “X Factor” judging panel as a replacement for L.A. Reid in the fall is heating up. The “Let Me Love You” singer, who has appeared in mentoring roles on a number of singing competitions in the past, reportedly told That Grape Juice recently that there have been “conversations” about him coming on the show. However, nothing is confirmed.

Ultimately, we would be rather surprised if Ne-Yo does end up landing a spot on the panel. Is he talented? Sure, but we don’t quite know if he would bring any new viewers to the show that aren’t already watching. We also don’t know just what sort of a presence he has as an entertainer when he’s not singing, and the biggest problem that Reid had was that he came across at times as dry.
