‘Mad Men’ season 6 spoilers: January Jones promises ‘weird stuff’ for Betty
When it comes to “Mad Men” scoop, you really have to take whatever you can get based on the show’s strict no-spoilers policy; so with this in mind, let’s celebrate getting just a vague detail about what is going to be coming up on season 6 for one Betty Francis.
January Jones has spent much of the past week in Park City, Utah promoting her new movie “Sweetwater” at the Sundance Film Festival, and she had an opportunity to speak briefly with Vulture briefly about the new season of her day job. Not only did we get a brief update on the progress of production from the actress, but it also seems as though Betty fans have plenty to be happy about after a pregnancy limited her role during season 5:
“I’m in it more. I can only say that, I think. We’re halfway done — and I’ve gotten to do a lot of weird stuff.”
Jones also spoke in general about the state of Betty now; that she should be happier now that she has a new marriage to Henry, but she continues to have something missing in her life:
“… I’m not sure she’ll ever be completely happy. I don’t know if she knows how to do that. She’s one of those people who’s always searching for something else, so even if she finds it, I don’t know if she’d recognize it. And it’s sad, because Henry’s, like, a great husband and a great guy, and he took in her kids, and he’s like this kind of perfect guy, and she’s still searching for something.”
“Mad Men” season 6 will officially premiere on AMC April 7 with a two-hour episode at 9:00 p.m. Eastern, and following that up it will shift to its familiar 10:00 p.m. timeslot the week after.
