‘The Bachelorette’: Ashley Hebert, Emily Maynard better prepare for spoof treatment
After watching the likes of Ben Flajnik and Brad Womack’s season of “The Bachelor” get hilariously torn a new one on the web series “Burning Love” last year, some of the most-famous stars of “The Bachelorette” in Emily Maynard, Ashley Hebert, Ali Fedotowsky, and more better prepare themselves according. “Burning Love” season 2 will arrive via Yahoo! Screen on Valentine’s Day, and we have the first trailer for you to enjoy below.
The series this time stars Julie Gristlewhite (June Diane Raphael), a woman who was turned away the first season by hunky fireman Mark (Ken Marino), and is now looking for love with a score of other guys. While we don’t know any of the characters’ names just yet, one looks to be a play on Jeff from Ashley’s season, and we also have a few familiar faces surprisingly around from the past season of “Burning Love.”
So will the series be successful in producing laughs this time around? Based on the cast and what we have seen so far, we’re willing to bet on the answer here being “definitely.” Some of the stars gracing the show this year include the likes of Jerry O’Connell, Adam Brody, and Michael Cera, and luckily Adam Scott will also stick around in a familiar role. We don’t know just to what extent the show will go after past “Bachelorette” personalities, but Emily is probably going to be in the crossfire the most based on the fact that her season is the most recent.
In case you never saw the first season of “Burning Love,” you missed on what is one of the best reality TV spoofs out there. Not onyl were most of the jokes spot-on, but it was something that there was significant effort put into rather than just a cheesy series of sketches hitting all the familiar “Bachelor” notes.
