‘Downton Abbey’ season 4 spoilers: Major Michelle Dockery scoop!
Of course, let’s start things off here with a warning: if you want to be surprised about the ending to “Downton Abbey” season 3, you really need to stop reading now.
Now that you’re still reading, there is no sense of beating around the bush now: Dan Stevens’ Matthew Crawley is dead, and as you may have heard already, Michelle Dockery’s Lady Mary is not necessarily planning to stay single forever even though we assume that she will be grieving for quite a while. According to TVLine, producers behind the ITV show have already begun the casting process for the show’s fourth season, and are looking for a good-looking and likable man to eventually serve as the future man in Mary’s life.
The one good thing that comes out of this announcement immediately? That we are not going to be seeing Tom Branson hook up with Mary anytime soon, which instantly alleviates our worst fear that we were going to be seeing some rather undesirable hookups between Dockery’s character and her late sister Sybil’s widower. The other good news is that there is already talk about this character staying around for a fifth season to go along with a fourth, which is a nice sign that Julian Fellowes is keeping the option open to have the series go beyond just one more year. (With all of the departures as of late, there were fears that the show would be ending at some point in 2013, and it could theoretically still happen despite this information.)
What sort of character would you like to see Mary fall in love with on the show? If you want to read some more news pertaining to “Downton Abbey” season 4 and some of his characters, be sure to head on over to the link here.

Allen Leech clearly put his heart and soul into Syble death episode. What about hitching him up with Edith. She is the child,s aunt, and can,t find love. Her current involvement in liberal politic has impressed Tom, that could draw them together.
He can,t marry below his status, and he will have a difficult time finding another acceptable bride. And there is the option of digging up another Crawley cousin, with title but little money. How about Brit actor Henry Cavill for. Mary. He was the hunk from the. Tutors

While Tom & Mary is the world’s greatest crackship, I just don’t see Mary ending up with the land agent and I think it would be good for the show’s development to introduce a fresh character. (After the requisite mourning period, of course, in which Michelle Dockery may earn all the awards.)
That said, I hope the character is a fresh start with a little edge to bring out Mary’s fantastic facets and has a few facets of his own, like Matthew did. I would like to see Mary hold a title of her own, if I’m being selfish and I’d certainly love to see her fight tooth and nail for her son, but definitely beside a man who challenges her.
Finally, as much as I dream about a Dockery/Cumberbatch collaboration, I don’t see him lining up for Downton after his critical evaluation of Series 2. Though, Karen, I would give my left kidney to see any of those faces grace us with their presence. <3
In truth, I have a feeling it'll be someone unknown and I hope it works!

I think that eventually Mary should hook up with Tom but in order to allow for some suspense this should only happen after both have had other entanglements. They need time to realize that the are better off with each other.

Well, I would have liked to see her with Tom, and I’m not alone with this. This new guy sounds already boring.
