‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 9: Ellen Pompeo, Patrick Dempsey fun via Shonda Rhimes

While for some bizarre reason there is no new episode of “Scandal” airing on ABC Thursday night, we are going to be seeing a little bit more of “Grey’s Anatomy” with an episode that should help to answer some questions about both the settlement along with the future of Owen’s career. However, we’re not here to talk about these stories so much as to share a few assorted details about season 9 courtesy of executive producer Shonda Rhimes.

Over the past few days, the creator (who is otherwise known for being one of the busiest women alive courtesy of everything that she has going on) has answered a few questions on Twitter from fans, and was kind enough to illuminate in particular a few interesting details:

1. Arizona is not going to be in danger of losing her life when it comes to the phantom leg issue that she is suffering from … though it will be a scary situation.

2. The adds of Addison coming up and helping to deliver Meredith’s baby are pretty much less than zero percent.

In following all of this up, Rhimes was king enough to post a picture of Meredith, Derek, and baby Zola for everyone to smile about. This is the sort of thing that draws so many fans of the show to begin with: everyone feels like a family, and not just in some cheesy way with canned dialogue.

As for what is coming up beyond the episode Thursday, expect some more interesting stories to unfold when it comes Arizona trying to use her accident to relate to other patients who have underwent an amputation. In addition to that, we are also going to be seeing some unlikely characters paired up for stories, and the end results may be rather interesting.
