‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4, episode 11 preview: Do you feel for Jeremy?
From one standpoint, we imagine that having the title of “vampire hunter” has to be a pretty good and pretty powerful thing. You are responsible in part for taking down creatures that can sap the life out of a town, and generally there is a modicum of respect that tends to come with that. Add this to the fact that you are a part of an elite group of hunters known as The Five, and you are pretty much the cream of the crop.
However, it is fair to say that it is a little bit of a different situation when you are forced to be the fighter at your own will, and someone is putting the old Darwinian expression of “survival of the fittest” to the test. This is where one Jeremy Gilbert stands moving forward into next week’s new “Vampire Diaries” season 4 episode, as Klaus is going to continue his quest to have Jeremy complete his mark in record time. The latest challenge? Sending a whole horde of compelled vampires after him. Sure, he may have some help here courtesy of Damon, but how much can Ian Somerhalder’s character really do to take on a small army?
What currently entices us about this episode, which is appropriately named “Catch Me If You Can,” is that it appears as though there is a concentrated effort being put here into giving the hour more of a singular story. This is a nice contrast from what we have seen over the past few weeks, where we and some other have criticized the show for occasionally biting off a little more than it should chew in between the Silas storyline and what is going on with Elena and Damon.
Beyond next week’s episode, here is what we can tell you: the characters will be making a trek to an island near Nova Scotia, and what they discover there could very well change their future in a way that nothing else has.
