‘90210’ season 5 spoilers: ‘The X Factor’ UK alum Olly Murs set

Are you ready for Olly Murs to be a troublemaker on the west coast? Let’s hope so, since the former “X Factor” UK contestant is now getting ready to grace the stage over on “90210.”

According to Entertainment Weekly, the singer is set to appear in an upcoming season 5 episode of the drama series, as he tries to help Liam and Navid get a little loser to a pro surfer. He is also going to perform a pair of songs during the episode: “Troublemaker” (which is his lead single off of his new album) and “Right Time.” As for whether or not he’ll be showing off the same super-quick sense of humor he has while co-hosting on “The Xtra Factor,” that is to be seen.

“90210” has developed a little bit of a reputation over the years when it comes to casting musicians in hopes of helping them reach the next level of celebrity. Haley Reinhart is one such example of someone from a singing competition (in “American Idol”), and they have also gone more with an Olympic route courtesy of swimmer Ryan Lochte. From a ratings standpoint, this certainly helps this struggling drama find a bigger audience whenever they can have new blood on board the guest cast … even if it is someone who is still yet the superstar that he is back home in the United Kingdom.
