‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 6 spoilers: Big moment for Leonard / Penny fans

If you have been wanting to see Leonard and Penny make a major move forward in their relationship on “The Big Bang Theory,” we have some major news for you: it is coming sooner rather than later.

According to E! News, there is going to be a big event happening in their relationship at around the 16th episode of the season. Just in case you are looking for some additional context here, know this: this episode should be one that airs on Valentine’s Day, so you have to bet that romance is going to play a central role in just about everything that happens.

So are we about to see Johnny Galecki’s character get down on one geeky knee? Let’s not get ahead of ourselves here. Leonard and Penny are hardly a traditional couple, so we have a hard time thinking that they would have a traditional engagement that happens on February 14. We do expect, though, to see something that gets them past some of their frequent insecurities about each other … which include their constant fears about one another’s intellect and how great a social divide there is between the two of them.

While Amy and Sheldon and Howard and Bernadette have each been fun relationships in their own right, there is little doubt that Leonard and Penny are still the central backbone of the “Big Bang Theory” story. These two have been together off and on since pretty early on in the show, and they have easily went through more in the way of ups and downs.
